I really hate the increase in the amount of ad and popup blockers, not just as a webmaster but also as a user of the internet. I can somewhat understand the need for popup blockers, especially if one is going to a lot of adult sites. Adult sites really love their popups and have hurt the popups reputation. However, I really hate the ad blocking programs that block banner ads and even text ads. HOW ANNOYING IS A TEXT AD THAT PEOPLE NEED TO BLOCK IT?!?! Evil or Very Mad

As a user of the internet, I worry that users of ad and popup blockers are going to cause sites to use even more annoying forms of ads. Currently, there are some big companies working on tv like web site commercials. The web is not going to have useful content unless there is a way that content providers' can profit from their efforts. If content sites shut down due to people using ad and popup blockers then the web is going to be left with retail and more expensive subscription based content sites. I hope that doesn't happen! Confused

So, I'd like to see some discussion on ways of getting your ads and popups seen even if your site's visitors are using Go!Zilla ad-muncher, Norton's ad blocker, etc. I have been looking at changing my sites' popups to have hover ads but haven't yet. Anybody have some great hover code that they would like to share?
